There wasn’t much humor at the 2023 White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday night. That included the Woke “jokes” by host and liberal “comedian” Roy Wood Jr..
Watch and try not to cringe at the “jokes” about school shootings and drag shows for children.

Yikes.
President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were seated on the stage along with “comedian” Roy Wood Jr., who provided the night’s entertainment. Wood’s jokes were aimed at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who he predicted would not be swayed by humor when it comes to his political positions.
This year’s White House Correspondents’ Association dinner took a more somber tone by ironically spotlighting attacks on press freedom. Tamara Keith, a White House correspondent for NPR and the association’s president, spoke about the hundreds of journalists around the world who are currently detained for the “simple act of doing journalism — which is not a crime.”
The Biden administration is arguably the most hostile to freedom of the press in American history. According to recent testimony from former acting CIA director Mike Morell, he said that he was pressured by the Biden campaign to squash the Hunter Biden laptop story in October of 2020. Morrell said that he orchestrated the infamous letter from “50 intel agencies” claiming that the story was nothing more than “Russian disinformation.”
The Twitter Files revealed U.S. government agencies colluded with Big Tech companies to crush the Hunter Biden story before the 2020 election. The majority of U.S. voters believed honest reporting of the story would have impacted their vote prior to the election.
This is in addition to the hundreds of American citizens and journalists who have been censored for merely sharing their political views on social media. The White House has routinely applauded such censorship efforts.
The Democratic National Committee even went so far as to request the censorship of private citizens on social media platforms like Facebook. James Woods, for example, was targeted for censorship due to his sharing of a post on Hunter Biden.
At the White House Correspondents Dinner, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden met privately with the parents of Evan Gershkovich, a Wall Street Journal reporter who has been imprisoned in Russia since March on charges of spying. Gershkovich’s employer and the US government have both denied the charges. Some attendees at the dinner wore buttons reading “Free Evan” in a show of support for the imprisoned journalist.
Also present was Debra Tice, the mother of Austin Tice, who disappeared at a checkpoint in Syria in 2012 and has not been heard from since. US officials believe that Tice is still alive and are working to secure his release.
The gala event was attended by a mix of celebrities, media moguls, and political figures. Among them were Liev Schreiber, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who opened the event with a pre-taped video emphasizing the importance of a free and independent press.

The dinner, which was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, was a familiar event for Biden, who attended several as vice president to Barack Obama. This year, as president and a presidential contender, Biden did not use the occasion to take aim at his critics. Instead, his focus was on supporting journalists and promoting press freedom.
Of course, Biden didn’t bring up his administration’s record of press censorship, attacks on free speech, and election interference. Neither did the “press” that fawned on the president while obeisantly holding their tongues.
