Viral Video/Pic: Gov’t workers caught stealing Trump yard signs – Trump Knows

A viral video shows Illinois Department of Transportation workers stealing a woman’s yard signs that were placed in support of former President Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 election.

YouTuber Marie Oakes shared a video on Tuesday of government workers removing her “Trump 2024” yard signs and driving away in a state truck. Oakes tweeted, “Illinois Department of Transportation workers laughing while stealing my Trump 2024 election signs.”

Oakes also shared an update regarding the video after the initial post. In her update, she explained that her family had contacted the police and that they had been instructed to “call the department.” However, the YouTuber noted that the Department of Transportation did not answer their call.

According to Oakes, Tuesday’s incident marked the “third round of signs stolen” out of her family’s yard in Illinois.

The viral video led to mixed reactions on social media. One social media user said that while they did not support how the Department of Transportation workers stole the yard signs out of Oakes’ yard, they understood that political signs are not allowed close to the roadway, which is considered part of “city property.”

In response to social media users suggesting that the signs may have been placed too close to the road, Oakes wrote, “Also ask why only these signs were target[ed] but not any of the other election signs on the same road which were even closer to the roadway.” In another comment, she added, “None of the political signs just up the road even closer to the road were taken.”

Other social media users openly criticized the government workers for stealing the Illinois resident’s Trump signs. One user wrote, “This is highly illegal. This guy should be arrested.” Media personality Nick Sortor encouraged Oakes to “Press charges!” Meanwhile, another social media user asked, “Why is Illinois DOT openly committing crimes?”

In a separate post on social media, Oakes shared a picture of the former president that was taken following the first assassination attempt against him in July alongside a defiant message to the people who keep stealing her Trump yard signs. “You may steal my signs, but you aren’t stealing my vote.” she tweeted. “Trump 2024.”
