Ted Cruz, fed up with censorship of conservative and non-leftwing Americans, is launching an investigation into Big Tech’s collusion with the U.S. government to restrict free speech.
“Today as Ranking Member of the Senate Commerce Committee I opened an investigation into Big Tech’s censorship,” Cruz said on ‘Hannity.’ “We are going to see accountability, transparency, and we’re going to shine a light on Big Tech’s efforts to silence conservatives.”
“Elon Musk’s buying Twitter is a game changer because he’s done something that the Big Tech oligarchs never thought would happen, which is he’s gone open kimono,” he added.
“And now, we have the evidence, we have the emails, and it’s clear when Democrats said to move, Big Tech said, ‘How high?’ They jump on command.”
Senator Cruz also announced the investigation on Twitter.

Republicans in Congress also want to probe DirecTV and parent company AT&T for cancelling Newsmax and OANN, according to Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy.
“This was never about the fees being excessive,” Ruddy said. “DirecTV’s position has always been that Newsmax of all cable news channels should never get any cable fee whatsoever, not one penny.”
AT&T, the 70% owner of DirecTV, has seen its stock lose $10 Billion in market value after dropping Newsmax.
Days after the Newsmax drop, former President Donald Trump called on Americans to cancel not only DirecTV but all AT&T services, including cellular and wireless services.
“I think it’s deplorable,” Trump said of the cancellation. “Newsmax did well in the ratings, so they actually took something off that was actually doing well in the ratings, as opposed to other shows that don’t.”
Since the removal of Newsmax, AT&T stock appears to be “significantly underperforming the market while major stock indices have held steady during the past 12 trading days,” Newsmax noted.
It is clear that Big Tech’s censorship of Americans transcends concerns about ‘misinformation,’ since their hostility to free speech is opening major companies up to more competition. There is something beyond profits motivating these companies to infringe on the rights of users, and it points in the direction ofU.S. government collusion.
If there is any justice, Ted Cruz’s senate investigation will lead to more than fireworks on television. There needs to be accountability for violations of Americans’ First Amendment rights or the nation might well be finished as a free nation.
