Musk announces cage fight with Zuckerberg is on; will be streamed and benefit veterans

Tesla CEO and X – formerly Twitter – owner Elon Musk and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s highly anticipated cage fight will be live-streamed on Musk’s social media platform, with the proceeds of the fight designated for charities that support veterans.

“Zuck v Musk fight will be live-streamed on ๐•,” Musk tweeted Sunday. “All proceeds will go to charity for veterans.”

According to The Associated Press, Zuckerberg responded to Musk’s comments on Threads, suggesting that the two tech titans should “use a more reliable platform that can actually raise money for charity.”

While Musk and Zuckerberg have discussed a potential cage match fight for quite some time and have not agreed to a specific date, Fox News reported that Dana White, UFC president, has confirmed that both Musk and Zuckerberg are serious about their commitment to participating in a cage match. He also noted that the cage match could provide a great opportunity to raise significant funds for charity.

“This would be the biggest fight ever in the history of the world,” White said. “Bigger than anything thatโ€™s been done, it would break pay-per-view records. These guys would raise hundreds of millions of dollars for charity.”

Emphasizing his commitment to the fight, Zuckerberg recently posted on Threads that he is “ready today.” According to Zuckerberg, he initially suggested August 26 as a possible day for the anticipated fight; however, he claimed Musk “hasn’t confirmed.” Zuckerberg added, “Not holding my breath. I love this sport and will continue competing with people who train no matter what happens here.”

After posting that the cage fight between the two social media giants would be live-streamed and would raise money to support America’s veterans, Musk stated, “Exact date is still in flux. Iโ€™m getting an MRI of my neck & upper back tomorrow. May require surgery before the fight can happen. Will know this week.”
