The Supreme Court’s final ruling on whether or not to overturn Roe v. Wade could be released at any time (presumably on Thursday). The decision to outlaw abortions will become a state affair if the nine Justices reverse the court’s ruling. Demonstrations would be sparked because unsettling flyers warning of rioting if the lawsuit is upheld have already started to circulate throughout Washington, D.C.
Ramesh Ponnuru of National Reviews tweeted a photo of a flier stuck to the edge of what seems to be a concrete light pole base on a street in Washington, D.C. Reads the flyer:
“NIGHT OF RAGE DC CALL TO ACTION… SCOTUS THE NIGHT OVD YOU SAID YOU’D RIOT, BUT CTURNS ROE V. WADE HIT THE STREETS.”
The flyer was signed by the pro-abortion organization “Jane’s Revenge,” which recently vowed “open season” on pro-life organizations and crisis pregnancy clinics. The extreme group has a track record of causing property damage during demonstrations. According to Michael Snyder of The End of The American Dream blog, they claimed responsibility for vandalizing a pregnancy resource center in Des Moines, Iowa, earlier this month.
Concerning social disturbance threats have grown in response to the impending judgment and the arrest of a gunman in front of Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s house. While a security fence and more security personnel surround the Supreme Court building, protesters have been outside the houses of conservative Justices.
In a direct message, Ponnuru urged the Federal Bureau of Investigation to look into the flier since it contained riot-instigating language.
“We hope the Washington, D.C., and Capitol police are considerably better prepared than they were for the riots of 2020 and 2021 despite the fact that the Jane’s Revenge threats have garnered little attention in the rest of the news. Protecting the Justices and the Court as a democratic institution is necessary “WSJ’s editorial board posted a piece on Monday.
The imminent decision, according to a letter posted to The Anarchist Library purportedly written by Jane’s Revenge, “is an event that should ignite wrath among millions of women who can get pregnant.”
“To fully unleash our rage, the state must feel it. We require them to fear us.”
“The first step is feeling your anger, no matter what form it takes. The next phase is to physically express your anger by taking it outside of yourself. Take this as your invitation to action. We are asking for brave hearts to come out after dark on the night the final verdict is handed down—a particular date we cannot now foresee but which is quickly approaching.”
The nation is now eagerly awaiting the Supreme Court’s decision, which might overturn Roe v. Wade and cause upheaval this summer.
According to a statement from the FBI, certain actions will not be tolerated: “violence, vandalism, interference with official functions, or trespassing on government property.”
