Hunter Biden’s Hearing Drama Was B-Roll For His Documentary

Hunter Biden made a 10-minute surprise appearance before the House Oversight Committee Wednesday before dramatically departing when Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene attempted to question him. At Hunter’s side throughout the ordeal was his lawyer, also known as his “sugar brother,” Kevin Morris. Morris has lent Hunter millions of dollars over the last few years and is currently producing a puff documentary about Hunter.

Some theorized that Hunter’s hearing appearance meant to dissuade lawmakers from holding him in contempt of Congress. As Greene pointed out on X, however, Hunter’s appearance only accents that he has refused to comply with House and Senate deposition subpoenas related to the alleged Biden bribery scandal. Hunter’s noncompliance is why representatives ultimately voted to hold the president’s son in contempt yesterday.

Hunter’s appearance is also likely meant to create fodder for Morris’s upcoming documentary about Hunter. The film seeks to garner sympathy for the president’s son and suppress his distasteful life choices, such as drug addiction, hookers, child abandonment, and allegations that he and his father sold out America to foreign adversaries.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the Morris documentary aims to show Hunter’s sensitive side, like him “painting, selling his art, raising his son, and navigating everyday life as a sober adult with ongoing criminal investigations and in the crosshairs of [former President Donald] Trump and his supporters.”

Morris first met Hunter at a 2019 California fundraiser for then-presidential candidate Joe Biden. Last year, IRS whistleblower Joseph Ziegler alleged that, over the last three years, Morris gave Hunter $4.9 million to pay for everything from taxes and legal fees to house and car payments.

“I don’t know where I would be if not for Kevin,” Hunter told the LA Times. “And I don’t mean just because he has loaned me money to survive this onslaught, I mean because he has given me back my dignity. He has been a brother to me.”

Indeed, Morris is such a good friend that he attempted to help cover up Hunter’s explosive laptop scandal. New York Post writers Melissa Koenig and Ryan King reported Morris was the first to suggest that the computer repairman who first obtained the laptop “was part of a ploy to air Hunter’s dirty laundry.”

In addition, Koenig and Ryan reported, Morris is one of Hunter’s infamous artwork buyers. Hunter also used Morris’s private jet when traveling to Arkansas court hearings, where he petitioned to pay less in child support to his four-year-old daughter, Navy Joan Roberts. Roberts has been snubbed by the entire Biden family, including her grandfather Joe Biden, and Hunter has requested barring the child from using the Biden last name.

“[A] purportedly leaked business record says [Morris] assumed control of Hunter’s 10% stake in Chinese state-backed investment fund BHR Partners, which drew negative headlines and questions about conflicts of interest for Hunter and his dad,” Koenig and King added.

Hunter insists Morris is simply a really good friend. “What was in it for Kevin?” Hunter asked the LA Times. “I think that you don’t truly understand or know Kevin if that’s your question.”

A 2020 email suggests otherwise. “In early 2020, Morris convened a ‘crisis meeting’ where over 2½ hours, a group of at least 10 people discussed Biden’s affairs, according to the summary of an interview that one of Biden’s accountants gave to federal investigators,” wrote LA Times reporters Matt Hamilton and Stacy Perman.

“The urgency of that period was clear in an email that Morris wrote to accountants and Biden about Biden’s outstanding tax returns on Feb. 7, 2020, three weeks before the elder Biden’s victory in the South Carolina primary revived his flagging campaign,” Hamilton and Perman continued.

The email Morris wrote to, among others, a Hunter Biden email address, reads, “We are under considerable risk personally and politically to get the returns in.” It suggests Morris’s massive spend on Hunter is really about protecting Joe Biden’s electoral efforts.

“Both public reporting and evidence reviewed by the Committees suggest that Kevin Morris had an ‘expansive role as a financier, confidant, and would-be avenger for Hunter Biden.’ Yet even the President’s brother testified to not knowing who Kevin Morris was or why he would suddenly swoop in to pay off Hunter’s millions worth of owed taxes,” said House Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith. “Instead of investigating his loans as a potential campaign finance violation, the Justice Department…said they had no interest in doing so.”

Congressional Republicans have called on Morris to appear for a transcribed interview with lawmakers. Like Hunter, he has thus far refused.
