James Comer, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, announced on Monday that he will question Anthony Fauci about what he called “mad scientific projects” being funded by the NIH and a “possible cover up” of the coronavirus lab breach.
“This isn’t over merely because the government has confirmed that Covid originated in the Wuhan lab,” Comer claimed while appearing on Fox News. People need to be held responsible for any potential cover-ups and for completing “Mad Science”-style projects.
The unfortunate thing about this is that we were paying for it with tax money. Even though Dr. Fauci first refuted that… Dr. Fauci must be brought before these committees and sworn in for this reason, Comer continued.
In addition, according to Comer, “all of Dr. Fauci’s early pandemic advisors remarked, “This was obviously a lab leak because that’s what we’re doing at the Wuhan lab, we’re researching Covid viruses. Thus it stands to reason that it began at the lab if it began in Wuhan, China.
Comer insisted that when Dr. Fauci held a conference call, the group stopped emailing and essentially agreed with everything he said about the notion being a conspiracy.
Comer said, “The terrible aspect about this is we were funding this with our tax dollars. This is what I have dubbed from day one, ‘Crazy Science. Even though Dr. Fauci first refuted that, he also refuted the fact that we were conducting gain-of-function research and that taxpayer funds were being used in this. Both assertions were untrue. Dr. Fauci must be summoned before these committees and sworn in for this reason.
He needs to explain a lot before we can decide what steps should be done moving forward, Comer said.
